Festival Volunteers
Want to help us make Festinho 2010 the best ever? We're looking for all kinds of volunteers, so read on to find out more...
To be a volunteer, you must be:
- available to work for a minimum of 3 days at some point during the following period: 26th-30th August 2010
- able to attend an induction session at 1pm on the day of your first shift or arrival on site
- willing to volunteer for around 15 hours (3 shifts of 5 hours) over the course of the 3 days you select to volunteer. Jobs are varied and will be allocated according to your experience, but we shall try to keep each of your 5 hour shifts varied. Shifts could include late nights and early mornings – please be prepared for this.
- able to deal with people in a friendly manner.
In return, you will receive:
- a free ticket to Festinho 2010
- refreshments while on shift and a meal ticket for every shift you do
- access to ‘Crew Camping’ area
- a warm feeling for being part of a brilliant weekend and contributing to the wellbeing of the Brazilian street kids

Great! Before you fill in our secure online application form, here's what you need to have at hand:
- A photo of yourself that you can attach to the form for ID purposes.
- Your chequebook or credit/debit card for a security deposit.
Why do we need a cheque or your card details?
Unfortunately not all our previous volunteers have turned up to help, nor provided us with sufficient time to find replacement volunteers. The festival simply isn’t possible without volunteer support, so as security we must have an indication of your commitment to help out. If you turn up, we won’t ever cash your cheque or charge your card (aside from 1p which we charge upfront to ensure the card is valid), and we shall destroy our records of these. If you don’t turn up or give us at least 1 week's notice we will have to charge you the cost of an adult weekend camping ticket (£70).
